First Day of PACs

So this morning was the first prelims of PACs! I swam the 500 free and definitely did awesome. I had a best time (6:28.66) by a second and 9 seconds better than I've done this year! The only other time I've been within 5 seconds of that time (and I've been swimming it since 7th grade) was when I swam it against Sylvia and we were neck and neck the whole time junior year. I was really happy, but I still want to do better! My 200 split was faster then my best 200 time (2:29.. I finally broke 2:30 even though it was in the 500!). Coach was like "You went out kinda fast...." but the thing is, it didn't feel fast. I guess that's what tapering does to you. I didn't make it back, but I will be cheering the team on tonight. Hopefully I can make it back in one of the breastroke events. That would be amazing!!!

Uggg.

I hate being made the fool.

I'm not so good with jokes. I can handle some but I hate when someone does something, denies it then, denies it a few weeks later, and then after like, another month, you joke about what happened and they're like "It wasn't me" and then 5 minutes later they are like "It was me." It's so annoying. Just tell me from the start... and don't lie to me and then tell me the truth in the same conversation. Also, when other people are randomly in on it and go along and lie with the person for these few months...... Arg. I don't know why it bothers me so much, some physcologist could probably dig up something in the past to say why, but i just don't do well. Which is part of the reason I don't play jokes on other people often. And if I do, they know in a matter of minutes it was me.

Back at the Grove.. the bubble..

I'm back here at Grove City which is nice but also sad. Besides swimming, there really isn't much going on. The halls are dead and everything is pretty quiet, besides the dining hall. I'm glad to hang out with the swim team because they are a lot of fun, but I miss the girls on my hall and all my Buffalo friends. And I missing having a tv to watch 24/7.... Today's practice wasn't too bad... yardage wise. I'm soooo tired from it though and I'm sure I'll be feeling it tomorrow. Yay for doubles practices. I can't wait.... Tomorrow we have an intersquad meet which I hope goes well. I probably won't do so well because I'm really really really out of shape and will have only had today's practice and tomorrow morning's practice to get in shape. Way for me to make a fool of myself. Ah well. Time to unpack everything. I have soooo much food. It's insane. Megan has almost no food in our room and Kate doesn't have much. I have popcorn (great for after practice), easy mac (for days when I don't want to go to dinner), oatmeal (for the days I don't want to go to breakfast), granola bars (for before my early classes.. the oatmeal is after), homemade bread (I made it and its awesome. It's for before my early swim practices when I need more than a granola bar), hot chocolate, tea, and some snacks. Has to all last me until I'm home at the end of February.

Camping

Camping was amazing. I realized how much I love hanging out with all you guys.. ok, re-realized it. We got reallllly into Mafia.. I was a little scared at times and had to yell back a bit.. LOL Well, since you all know what I've been up to since my last post, I'll just sum it up!

Yea, alright, so I never post. But I warned you all about that ahead of time! Between swimming, classes, labs, and ALIAS, I just don't have time to update this and I never know what to say eithere. I always feel like I have to recap everything. So how about I recap a bit of what's happened since October:
-Matt and Katie are married (I have a sister-in-law--- that still sounds so weird)
-I successfully completed my first semester of college (though the grades might be a little... not good. Darn high standards)
-I got a best time in the 100 breastroke
-I actually know all the names of the guys on the guys swim team.. though I don't talk to them much. I guess that is my new year's resolution. Let's hope I can keep it, I'm going to be spending a week and a half with the swim team alone.
-My friends from college Hope and Justin are dating and had their first kiss last night on Rainbow Bridge (The bridge on campus that spans Wolf creek.. where you are supposed to have your first Grove City kiss--- how cute!)
-I got all my friends hooked on ALIAS and we watch past seasons that I own on DVD every Friday night.
-I traveled for a swim meet to Bethany which is literally in the middle of nowhere. If you think you are in the middle of nowhere just think that this school has nothing, no main street, no shops, nothing but the actual campus (which is not large at all) and the nearest town is 6 miles away down a curvy road with no shoulder and cliff on either side. How do you like them apples?
-A lot of other stuff that I really can't remember at the moment.

I missed you all, but now we're all in town, so it should be some good times. Now I'm off to bed.

Updating..

Yea, so I'm a little slow with updating on my life. But that's only because it's insane and full of work and chemistry and chemistry and more chemistry. Anyway, have no fear, I'm here to update you on fun!


Thursday I was working on chem. stuff for a long time and then fell asleep. Friday night I had practice from 5:30-7:30 (which was right after my 2-5 lab) and then I went to the water polo game until 9 (we lost miserably). We did our first dryland workout and am I ever sore! We just dove right in and I can't bend my legs when I walk. It doesn’t really hurt, the muscles just don't want to bend that way. After that, there were guys in my room (actually from before I got back) and we watched Beauty and the Beast Special Edition (Justin's idea.. and his movie). He and Trevor didn't leave until 12:45 and then I fell immediately asleep. It was the first time I'd met either of them, but Alyssa and Hope knew Justin and he brought his friend Trevor. Saturday morning I woke up at 8:45 for my 9-11 swim practice which ended up being 9-12. 9-10:30 was in the weight room so I'm even more sore and from 10:30-12 we did power racks. Then I went to lunch with the girls and hung out during afternoon catching up with stuff.

Saturday was the second senior crimson day so there were about 600 high schoolers roaming the campus. I almost couldn't get out of the PLC after swim practice because I kept getting blocked by the tours that were going by every 10 seconds. (way to spread them out) Emily (RA) was one of the tour guides and when she went through the library, some of her friends pretended to be intently looking at this book and animatedly explaining it to each other. Then when her friend Chuck (who was my swing dance teacher who I nearly walked into outside of the pool on his tour) went by, their two guy friends walked by holding hands to try to freak the kids out.

That night I went to see Shrek 2 in the audiorium. (hilarious). Then we went to Justin's dorm and watched tv in the lounge for a bit. Alyssa, Hope and I went back to Justin's room and played guitar, cards (their version of Mao has nothing in similar with ours other than spades) (I learned how to play uker! Can I spell it though?), and then xbox. Guys kept wandering in and were like "you have 3 girls all to yourself!" "you have girls in your room and you choose to play xbox?" and "Girls are playing xbox? That's so hot!" It was great... we stayed until 12:45 (end of intervis time) and Justin walked us back to our dorm.

Yesterday was just a lot of work that I didn't do on Saturday. I still can't walk very well.. makes it interesting try to get up and down stairs and the hills here without falling over. I might go see the trainer after my calc test. Speaking of classes, I have chem in 10 minutes, so I better be off!

Study, study, study

Today's my easy day *happy dance* because I only have 2 classes, though they are physics and chemistry. All other days I have 3 classes and a lab on mondays and fridays. Talk about a 8-5 day... Though I have to do a lot of studying today because I have a calc test on Friday, a civ test on tuesday, and a physics test on wednesday. I think this afternoon I'm going to do my calc homework which shouldn't take long, my civ reading, and then start reading over my notes in both those classes. Physics I'll start either tonight or tomorrow night.

Swimming is going pretty good. I'm dead tired a lot, but I guess that comes with the territory. I've discovered that there is some sort of unofficial law that you have to have something about swimming in your profile. Ok, maybe not, but over half the team does, so I decided to conform. Yesterday after practice, the guys got out before we did and I got out before a lot of the girls, so I went and sat with the guys for dinner along with one other girl who's name I can't remember and Ellen (one of the captains) because both swim teams always sit together at dinner if we have practice at the same time. Anyway, the rest of the girls team must not have seen us, so it ended up being just us with the guys but I really didn't mind. The guys were cracking me up. Jeremy stared at me for a few minutes and then was finally like "I don't know you. I'm Jeremy." The guy sitting next to me was really cool too. I have no idea what his name was... I want to say Andrew but I could be completely off there. The guys were talking about this weightrack thing that they'd done and I was just kind of staring at them so the guy next to me must have noticed and he asked if I knew what they were talking about, which I didn't. So he started using his bread crust and silverware to diagram out for me what they were doing. The rest of the guys started laughing and were like "visuals and diagrams... wow you really are going to be a teacher" and he said "They work! See! She knows what we're talking about now!" so he must be an education major. They were a lot of fun though.... I guess that means I should stop sitting down at the end of the table with only girls from now on. Maybe it's my chance to make guy friends... lol all the ones I was talking to were upperclassmen, so we'll see what happens to that. I still have to find some guys my own age to be friends with.... Craziness.

Alright, I'm tired so I might go take another powernap before lunch.
